Indigenous Peoples' Day
Last year, President Biden proclaimed that October 11 is Indigenous Peoples' Day. Honoring and appreciating wisdom and knowledge of Native Americans, their struggles and pain have been many but their resilience is immeasurable.
We Are One
Besides teaching us how to be one with nature, one of their great contributions is their wisdom.
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” –Chief Seattle
All Our Relations
Respect for every human, regardless of blood line and every being on earth is part of their expression. That includes animals and the elements of nature.
Everyone has a story...family history, as well as the wisdom, is passed down from generation to generation with the spoken word. Harmony with nature is their aim. Their teachings are more appreciated and still applicable today, much like other ancient counterparts.
Remembering our roots will help us step forward with confidence and with the support of our ancestors.
Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day!
