KUA
Number

There is a very accurate formula in the Compass School of Feng Shui called the KUA number, which calculates your lucky and unlucky directions. It is sometimes referred to as the Natal Number,” your lucky number or Gua number. It is based on your birth date and the Chinese Lunar year.

The formula divides people into East or West groups, and is one of the most accurate compatibility formulas that I know. It provides four lucky directions as well as four unlucky directions.

Learn your directions and then apply them to your daily life.

When sleeping, it is best to point your head towards your health direction. When sitting, face one of your lucky directions. It is recommended to commit your lucky directions to memory, as after a while it will become second nature to you and the beneficial energy it attracts would nourish your chi before you realize it.

Let’s look at an example of how to use a KUA number (see charts below). Notice that on the birth date chart, the years do not start on January 1. The Chinese calendar is based on the beginning of the moon cycle, the start date also varies and changes from year to year.

For example: Jenny was born July 16, 1998. Looking for her birth date on the chart, it falls in the row of “Jan 28, 1998 to Feb 15, 1999″. Her KUA number on the chart is 4, found on the third column.
