A mother has a very important role in society. Her love is a gift.
Mother’s Day weekend in the U.S. is filled with many different activities. Shopping, a trip to a museum, the movies, and how can we forget the #1 activity, taking mom out to eat. It is estimated that $35.7 billion will change hands this weekend. It is the second highest spending holiday in the U.S. behind Christmas.
The 5 Important Roles of a Mother
Even though our society is changing, the role of the mother continues to be important for a child's healthy development.
Establishing a strong emotional bond. The stronger the bond, the healthier the child grows to be. The connection starts in the womb. It is the first point of contact. The child's soul is aware of the activities, emotions, food, and energy that mother has encountered.
Providing the right environment. When the child's needs are met, it allows the child to develop confidence. Creativity is born from confidence, which lead to developing skills and opportunities.
Being loving and caring. Children learn by observation. How we behave and react becomes an imprint in their subconscious. This programming, whether positive or negative, can last for a lifetime.
Quality time. Spending quality time with a child instills trust, security, and values. It is important that the child learns problem solving skills, and that happens from spending time with mom, dad, family, siblings, friends, or generations of family.
Routine and persistence. Children find safety and comfort by following a routine. Keeping your word or promise is important, as that is what they understand. Persistence and perseverance is required to achieve goals. Without it a child cannot fulfill their dreams or expectations.
The Mother Code
The Mother Code can be found in your natal chart most of the time. The Mom Element is the element that produces you, or the child. The Mom is a resource element for the child and the child is an output element for the Mom.
Mom Codes can appear anywhere in your chart. It produces the IR and DR, which stand for Indirect Resource or Direct Resource. When the codes are absent, they indicate a lack of affinity with your mother or the absence of a mother in your life. This is when affects how you, the child, develop.
This chart for a female suggests a strong bond with her mother, as indicated by the circle with the IR code. Yang wood supports Fire, which represents the "self" element.
Example #2. This chart pertains to a male. In a male chart, we search for the DR code, which is absent in his chart. Additionally, the circled DE code suggests she was not present in the manner he required. The absence of a mother figure contributed to lack of affinity with women.

Being a Mom changes your entire life. It can bring the greatest satisfaction and the toughest challenges. It is important to choose this path with the highest degree of awareness and love.
