A testimonial & story from a long-time friend of LSP Feng Shui & Chinese Astrology.

Veronica, the founder and owner of Life's Simple Pleasure's Feng Shui, had alerted me early on that 2026 energy was going to be strong. I believed her.
In the ten plus years I have known her, she has always been right. Her perscriptions on how to manage the energy have never failed me, especially when I went through my divorce.
Perhaps I got too comfortable in the safety and peace that is my home, but my own confidence has caused some of the issues of the Fire Horse to attack me.
The strongest energy for the Fire Horse Year is in the South, and the Southwest isn't much better! She revealed many things to expect in this year at her annual class, What to Expect...(insert animal for the year.) Held every December, Veronica reviews the energy of the upcoming year, what we can do to diminish the energy, where to place your salt cures, where to put your windchimes, and more.
She had doubled the size of salt cures this coming year, a good indication of how strong the energy of the Fire Horse was going to be. I made sure to place my salt cures, to remove things around my home before the Chinese new year began that went against the prescription for the year, but the Horse energy was already parading into my home, ready to prance and let me know it was there.
The front of my home faces the South. It sits across from a cul-de-sac (already a bad issue),

and sits on a curve. The primary bedroom runs across most of the front of the house. Some of it is Center, a smidgen is Southeast and West, and the rest is South and Southwest. This layout makes South and Southwest energy the majority in the room.
In preparation of the Chinese new year, I had deep cleaned the primary bedroom, as I had been warned the Fire Horse doesn't like clutter. I cleared out bold colors, because pastels calm the Fire Horse energy. I cleaned drawers, donated clothes, straightend my closets, I even changed my comforter to a soft pastel floral in preparation for the year. I made sure there was extra metal in the South, I didn't use lights in the room. Little did I know, there would be a succession of attacks because I did not respect the Fire Horse enough. Here's how he let me know.
In January, just after the Western New Year had been celebrated, I was exposed to a nasty flu. I did my best to keep it at bay, and was mostly successful at it. But shortly after that, when I was feeling better, I began to crave the coldest possible drinks I could get. Ice production in the frig was at an all time high. It didn't matter that the Chicagoland area was setting records with negative temperatures, I had to have my drink ice cold and thoroughly chilled or not at all. And there was more.

I also noticed my vision had changed in January. I've worn glasses since I was ten years old. This last script was the best I'd had in a long time. So I was surprised that the change had occured. I was able to get an appointment and found that the pressure in one of my eyes is out of the range that is normal. Not much, but enough that I've been recommended to see a specialist to make sure I don't have glaucoma, which, if left untreated, can result in eventual blindness. The treatment is simple, drops in your eyes.
Looking back, the energy of the coming year was already in my home. Veronica has often said in the past that as each year weakens, the energy of the upcoming year can make itself known, as early as December, even in November.
I'm a Wood Dragon according to my natal chart. Fire burns wood. Sleeping in the primary bedroom was letting the fire from the horse affect my body. The desire for icy cold water was my bodies way of trying to help me put out the fire and get my attention.

The Southwest is one of my best directions. Everyone has 4 best directions, and 4 negative directions. You can find your best directions by finding your KUA number and/or looking at your Natal Chart. It's in the upper right hand corner of your chart as your Life Star number. Once you have that, you can use this chart to find your best and worst directions.
It is good to face these positive directions, spend time in them, sleep with the crown of your head in one of them. Except this year, as you are reading, the South and Southwest are not to be trifled with. Spending too much time in these areas is not recommended.
There was another early warning that the Fire Horse energy was going to be damaging. In late January, any electronics I had in the South began acting up. For example, my WiFi receptor was located in the South of my bedroom. Every night at 7 pm it began to go off line and it would stay offline for a few hours. I contacted Veronica to ask her if she thought the Fire Horse might be at play, and she stated that yes, that it is likely the Fire Horse. She gave me a time, date, and a better direction to place the WiFi receptor. After that, my Wifi has never gone offline, or been weak. The early Horse Energy at play was, again, successfully managed with Veronica's guidance and expertise.
I was feeling confident that, with Veronica's help, I would be able to manage the Fire Horse. My overconfidence in my strength of overcoming other chanllenges in my life was going to prove foolish. The Fire Horse continued to push me, damage my health, and eventually motivate me to move out of the primary bedroom.

Here's what happened while I continued to sleep in my primary bedroom.
I found I was impatient. I am never impatient. I don't like being angry, because I feel it is a wasted emotion. But, truth be told, I was cranky and snappish. More things I don't like to be, but there it was. These are symptoms of being in the West, also known as the Quarreling Star in 2026.
I was also waking up with a sore throat. The kind you feel after yelling at an exciting event. No amount of cold water made it go away. It did get slightly better after being out of my bedroom for the day. But then . I'd wake up with the same soreness. Yes, some of you are saying I'm likely an open mouth sleeper, but I'm the opposite. I'm a grinder. The mouth is affected by the Southwest in 2026 and is known as the Star of Conflict.
Another happening, I checked my bank account, and there was a charge that shouldn't be there. Someone had bought themselves a membership to a popular designing website with my credit card. The business who processed the transaction was great, it wasn't hard to get my money back, but guess what was at play? The Star of Conflict, which is also known as the sector of violence and theft. Southwest energy.
That didn't end there. Parked at Trader Joe's, infamous for their poor parking lot design, I was waiting for a family member to come to the car after purchasing a few items. Happy, singing along to the radio until the door to the drivers side was hit by a sweet, elderly Jamacian woman. I got her attention quickly, she was profusely apologizing and had put her car in drive. Eventually a kind gentleman helped move her car so I'd not receive any more damage and so she'd be able to leave easily after she went shopping. More Star of Conflict energy.

One last thing. And it's the biggest. I began losing hair. Not just a little, it was like after pregnancy combs full of hair. I hadn't been pregnant in years, and in January my thyroid was slightly off, but I was encouraged to improve aspects of my diet and I was given a list of things to watch for and to come in if they occured.
After months of sleeping in Fire Horse energy, in a room of two of the worst sectors of the year, and me being a Wood Dragon (fire burns wood), my body was letting me know I needed to get out of there.
I contacted Veronica, telling her I needed out of that room, and gave her the areas of the home that I could possibly sleep in for a year. She calmy asked pertinant questions, and got back to me with a direction, date, and time of day to set up my new room and remove things from the primary bedroom. After one night of sleeping in the new room, in the Northeast, one of my best directions, my throat was no longer sore.

I woke up happy, motivated, and ready to dance through life, literally! I tackled so much in that day - I felt like my old self. I gave myself another night in the new room before I washed my hair. I still had hair loss, but it was greatly diminished, probably by half or more. Veronica said she thought it would continue to shed hair for the length of time I was sleeping in the room during the Year of the Fire Horse, about one month.
The important thing to me was that I, the Wood Dragon, was no longer on fire from the energy of the year. I was improving. Thank goodness. As I spend more time in the new room, sleeping with my crown facing towards the Northeast (my health direction) my hair loss does continue to decrease.
But there was another scalp issue to come into play. Vacuuming the primary room. The room is kept calm and quiet, but it still needs cleaning. I stupidly did a quick run through with the vacuum. The next day, I woke with welts all over my head. When I told Veronica what had happened, she explained that my metal resource (you'll find yours in your Natal Chart in the upper right hand corner) was non-existent and that I shouldn't be vacuuming. Her advice - let your other family members vacuum that room.
Outside Influences | May Update
My enthusiastic and very kind neighbor usually talks to my family over the fence. He's a quiet guy who is always busy in his retirement. A former state police officer, he's what I call a "firm" individual.

One morning we were all rudely brought out of our sleepy and quiet Monday routine with very loud, aggressive knocking on the front door, which is in the South direction. Yes. Fire Horse Energy.
These weren't just a few knocks. These were the knocks of someone who has had to get the attention of occupants in a building professionally. Twice he knocked like this in the South. And then he went to our patio door and knocked aggressively again. And then he rang our back doorbell at least 20 times. Our doorbell rings in the front hall of my home, no matter which one is used. Thus, it caused a third activation of South energy.
I'm happy to report his enthusicastic bombardment on my home was for good, abundant reasons. However, because he had activated the south area, we were being so careful to sooth and keep quiet, we needed to add something to bring calming energy the area.
Fresh, pale colored flowers in a vase were placed to calm and cool the disturbed energy.
Did his knocking affect me? Yes. The next morning I woke with a sore throat and my hair shedding had increased. A few welts also appeared on my head.
I wasn't the only family member affected. My youngest had someone trying to hack into her personal accounts online. This took a day or two to sort out...but she's keeping an eye on things.
As for the pale colored flowers that were placed in the South, they wilted pretty quickly. Well before 24 hours of having been placed. We moved them out of that area and placed a new vase full of small pink and white daisies. So far they've not wilted. But I am sharing this with you on Friday, and the disturbance occured on Monday.
I also got a card from an oracle reading that was very direct.

From the Dream Weavers oracle by Colette Baron-Reid, Let the Fire Dragon Sleep kept coming up this past week. In fact, any time there is a disturbance, or I wonder about retrieving something stored in my bedroom closet, this card comes up.
So, even when I pull cards, the advice is keep the South quiet! I pulled this card earlier today so the disturbance from earlier this week hasn't calmed entirely.
The only thing to do is to respect the energy.

I have to give thanks for what the Fire Horse came to teach me. The energy really chose my mouth area, which asks you to look at your diet. And boy did I ever. I cut out soda, processed foods, and other things that block your hormones from operating properly.
I increased my fresh fruits and veg and eat chicken and salmon daily. It has done wonders for persistent issues I have had. The Fire Horse taught me to love myself more and not take myself for granted. I deserve nourshing food and especially positive and uplifting energy.
Veronica has had great advice on how to tackle and diminish this energy on the outside of the home. As she mentioned in her recent #wisdomwednesday newsletter, keeping colors cool in the South is important.

The front door to your home is known as the Mouth of Chi. You want to keep it inviting, clean, and pleasing so you attract the best energy to come into your home.
I knew that this meant I needed to sweep and wash the patio once winter had ended. But as the South was being so reactive with me, I was not comfortable with just doing it when I had time. Veronica provided the best way to clean it this year and provided a few windows of time when it, the Fire Horse, was less likely to be aggravated.
Our Spring in Chicagoland has arrived a bit fiercely. It's warm enough to plant planters and my local nursery had petunias early.
I planted white petunias in tall planters away from the front porch, and then carried them onto the porch to create as little disturbance as possible. Veronica had provided a date and time to place the pots at an opportune moment. I swear I heard the house give a sigh of relief once I placed the petunias.
Petunias, in the language of flowers, represent soothing, calming energy. Exactly what I want for the Fire Horse. They also are a natural pollinator and a repellent to aphids. I'd also gotten lavender at the nursery. They were placed in pots and put on the front porch at the same time the petunias were.
Lavender is calming, relaxing, helps with insomnia, and, wink wink, is said to help with hair growth. Lavender, as well as being a great pollinator, also helps to repel ticks, which is becoming increasingly important. One last plant was chosen and placed, rosemary.
Rosemary is known as the plant of remembrance, as it is supposed to help with memory and focus. But I chose rosemary because it promotes skin and hair health, as well as being an anti-inflammatory. I feel that my Mouth of Chi is ready to help assist the house and my family.
Veronica had also given me tips on how to cool the Fire Horse energy that has take up space in my body through placements in my home and adjustments of other items. Many of them providing immediate energy relief and a feeling of coolness.

If you're having issues or are concerned about the how the Fire Horse might impact you or your family, I strongly suggest you make a home assessment appointment with Veronica. It does not matter if you live in a small house, a big house, a condo or an apartment.
