The front door of your home is known in Feng Shui as the Mouth of CHI. This is where life force energy, opportunities, and abundance enter your home. Because these are all aspects of life that we desire, it is important to care for the main entrance of your home.
Optimal Maintenance - The Basics Part 1
Clutter
Clutter is not welcome at the Mouth of Chi. Keep the area clean, bright, free of dust & cobwebs. Be sure items are in optimal condition, clear of mail pile-ups, shoes, and other items that cause disarray.
Keep your exterior entrance just as clean and maintained as you would your interior. Sweep your porch, wipe down your door, and clean the glass, if you have it, on a regular schedule.
Maintenance
Make sure the door swings properly, isn't sticky, and any squeaks are prevented by oiling your hinges.
Plants & Pots
If you have plants in pots at your front entryway, make sure to keep them healthy by watering them and dead-heading or trimming as necessary. Pots should not be cracked or in poor shape. Remove them from your porch when growing season is over and store them for the season.
Doormat
If you have a doormat make sure the message or image is positive, as this is the type of energy you wish to receive and bring into your home.
Shoes
If you remove shoes when entering your home, they should not be left at your entrance.
Have a separate storage space for them or invest in a special chest made to hold shoes. Many online shops offer a wide selection of nice looking shoe storage chests.
Lighting
Keep the area bright and allow natural light in to bring in radiance.

The Law of Attraction
You attract who you are and that also includes your home.
Were you at a positive or negative cycle of your life when you chose your home?
When did you move in? Your first step inside your new home carries energy and frequency.
What year did you move in? Was it a good year for you?
We attract what we vibrate also applies to your home purchase too.
The Back Door
Your address is based on what street the front of your home faces. However, there are times when the energy is strongest at the back entrance, particularly if your home faces a beautiful golf course or a lake. This is what we call Facing of the House ( the most Yang view ) or Sitting of the House ( the Yin side )
If this is the situation with your home, follow the same rules and apply them to your back door.

Door Colors
Door colors are like a visual magnet that invites you in. Color serves a purpose, to enhance the house structure, architecture, and surroundings. In my experience, homeowners choose colors based what they resonate with. Color carries a vibration, but it is not one of the highest requirements - an energy assessment is highest.
Using a deeper level of Feng Shui and assessing the house energies can lead to a more integrated approach where a specific color serves the energy of the house - not independent from it.
A Favorable Direction With Example
Every space enhances a certain kind of energy archetype and intelligence based on the home's nature. This concept is shared by many ancient traditions. When we are conscious and aware of how energies work, we can plan what kind of home we choose. If you are already living in it, how can you consciously use the space?
Everyone has 4 positive directions and 4 negative directions. It is optimal that your front door carry positive energy whether you live in a home or an apartment.
It is also very important for you to face one of your best directions during your daily tasks for best alignment and results.
Basic Example
A client wanted to become a speaker. It was difficult to manifest it in their current space. With Feng Shui knowledge, my client was able to move once his lease expired and he moved into a West facing home. The West direction enhances speaking abilities. As a result, his speaking opportunities and career skyrocketed. The home helped him manifest speaking opportunities.
Relationships & The Mouth of Chi
A home helps you prioritize and focus your intentions. In the case of a blended family, East is their best house facing direction.
East was a Relationship direction for my client, a great activity sector for her children, and a health direction for her husband. Together, they were able to forge a harmonious home for their blended children growing years as they become fulfilled and prosperous individuals.
Energy of the Home
One of the biggest things I experience in my practice is that the quality of energy we live in has a direct impact in the quality of our life. There are some simple things we can do to steer our life in the right direction.
